Edge Telecom was set up in 2005 as a “Carriers Carrier”, EDGE has developed a high quality UK Voice and Data network based upon unbundling BT’s local loop (LLU). EDGE can now provide flexible, cost-effective, high speed end-to-end wholesale carrier circuits, as a true alternative to BT in selected geographies.

Over the last 12 months Edge’s engineering team have been busy designing and deploying our core Ethernet / MPLS network utilising the latest EFM (“Ethernet Over the First Mile”) LLU technology and provisioning our first 10Gb fibre ring in Central London. This will soon be followed by Metropolitan Area Networks in a number of other large cities around the UK.

Edge does not intend to sell directly into end users, but to work with specific Carriers and Resellers to extend their own networks reach, in areas that are not economically viable to build out their own network. Edge can connect in to your own network over NNI or L2TP from either of our two London PoPs.
